About
Prof. Dr. Carlos de Sousa Reis
Carlos de Sousa Reis is an Auxiliary Professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences, CEIS20, University of Coimbra. She holds a PhD in Education Sciences with a specialization in Philosophy of Education (University of Coimbra, 2008), awarded with Praise and Distinction for her dissertation titled Education and Media Culture: Analysis of Un-Educative Practices. She completed her Master’s degree in Education Sciences at the same university in 1996, receiving a “Very Good” distinction for her thesis Advertising’s (Un)Educative Value. In addition to her academic training, she earned multiple professional qualifications from the Portuguese Scientific-Pedagogical Council for In-Service Training, including specialization in Educational Technology and Communication (B15) and Specialized Didactics in Philosophy (C05) in 1998, as well as earlier certifications in Practical and Pedagogical Research (1995). Her academic background began with a degree in Philosophy (1989) and a degree in Philosophy Teaching (1991) from the University of Porto. Her work focuses on the intersections of education, media culture, philosophy of education, and the pedagogical impact of communication practices.
