Edith Schoeneck (Director)
The Museumspädagogische Werkstatt Schloß Obernzenn has developed several projects, like historical projects, monument preservation projects, also language concepts and programs for adult education, specially for women and children. The institution counts 2000 children and 2500 adults as visitors per year. Target groups and aim of institution are women, students, teachers, adults, foreign students and children. The main idea, founding the MPW Obernzenn, is to awaken the historical interest, and how important it is to respect our cultural heritage. My aim was to inform the visitors about maintenance of our culture heritage, but also about history and specially I developed concepts about the women of the castle in former times. The children and also the adults are making practical and theoretical trainings. They will also learn how to work with special materials, like gold, stucco work and pastries. Foreign students have the possibility to come to know and accept foreign culture, the language and the intercultural competence. The European idea is: to bring foreign and German people to Obernzenn, and make them familiar with German and European cultural heritage, history of the 18th century and also our language today. The MPW Museumspädagogische Werkstatt Schloß Obernzenn, can teach and train women via the development of women leadership in history and feminism. Women which I trained in the workshop will be highly motivated to reflect those women in history, which helps them to fight for their independence of women. The “MPW” could compare women leadership in several countries and bring women together. Especially the fact of integration of women with migration background. The director Edith Schoeneck is specialized in the field of historic research of feminism.
